On August 3rd, 2017, the 2nd Model UN Human Rights Council UPR for High School was co-hosted by Human Asia and Korea University Human Rights Center at International Hall 214, Korea University. This event was sponsored by U.S. Embassy, Korea NGO News, and One-Stop Prep. A total of 27 high school students participated in this contest representing assigned countries and government delegations, and discussed the topics for four states under review (China, South Korea, North Korea, and Japan), respectively. These students did an excellent job, staying true to the actual position of the country or member they represented. Participants not only learned the process of the UPR but also were provided with opportunities to think about the current issues of human rights in Northeast Asia region. We hope the participants will become great leaders in the field of human rights in the future.
